This policy explains how Quanteec collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit quanteec.com (the “Site”) or contact us through it. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and French data-protection law.

1Who we are (data controller)

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

This policy covers the Site only. The Quanteec peer-assisted delivery SDK, when integrated by our customers into their own players and platforms, is governed by separate contracts with those customers, who act as data controllers for their viewers.

We do not ask for special-category data (e.g. health, political views) and ask that you do not include such information in free-text messages.

3Why we use it & legal bases

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide the demo or information you ask for. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering prospects, or pre-contractual steps at your request.
  • To prevent abuse and spam of our forms (including basic IP/location checks). Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the Site secure.
  • To measure and improve the Site (audience statistics). Legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner.
  • To meet legal obligations where applicable. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

4Cookies & analytics

When you first visit the Site, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie icon shown in the bottom-left corner of the home page.

  • Strictly necessary cookies/storage keep the Site working and remember your cookie choice. These are always on and do not require consent.
  • Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) help us understand traffic. They run only after you accept them. We use Google Consent Mode, so no analytics or advertising storage is set until you consent.
  • Marketing cookies are off by default and only used if you opt in.

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: reopen the cookie preferences and switch a category off.

5Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers (processors) who help us run the Site, under appropriate agreements:

We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights.

6International transfers

Some providers (such as Google and Discord) may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

7How long we keep it

  • Enquiry & contact data: up to 3 years from our last meaningful contact, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Analytics data: retained for the period set in our analytics configuration (typically up to 25 months).
  • Cookie-consent record: stored in your browser for up to 12 months.

8Security

We use HTTPS encryption in transit and apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and review our practices regularly.

9Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to: access your data; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier processing). To exercise any of these, email privacy@quanteec.com. We respond within one month.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

10Children

The Site is aimed at businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
